Rosolio a cordial made from spirits and sugar flavored variously as with petals of roses, orange blossom water, cinnamon, or cloves, is a type of Italian liqueur which is often used as the basis for the preparation of other liquors of various flavors. 2016 Giuseppe Gallo has contributed to the rediscovery of the category with the launch of his ITALICUS Rosolio Di Bergamotto, distilled in Turin, with bergamots from Calabria. Italicus is based on an original recipe from the 1850’s well known in italy at that time as ‘Aperitivo di Corte’.
