Americano uses gentian root as the primary ingredient for flavoring and bitterness. Quinquina also refers to Peruvian Bark, which originates from South America. Cocchi Americano is a quinine-laced aperitif wine produced by Giulio Cocchi Spumanti in the Asti province of Italy.
